 Tough Ride
I left the house on the Trek and rode into a brutal wind. I went the Dreamland Route. Another biker caught me somewhere on that route and we rode together until I turned off at Dawson. Nobody was home at Pete’s. I continued to fight the wind all the way to TR and the TReehouse. When I parked my bike there another biker asked me where the Swamp Rabbit Trail was. I thought that was an odd question, since he was within spitting distance of it. Inside I had a grilled cheese sandwich with a fruit cup. A couple was in there and she came over and asked me if I knew where the Swamp Rabbit Trail was. Hmmm....Twice in one day!

The ride down was going well - the brutal headwind had let up but what was there was at my back. A girl passed me on the trail on the Furman campus. She then ran out into traffic and really got away from me. I caught her just short of the light at Sulphur Springs. I passed her after that , but I turned off at the Lakeview spur. Once on OBR and girl ran me off the road from a side street. She waited until I was there and pulled out right into me. she slowed down to purposely get in my way. But she went on and I continued down OBR. I got off on the Orange Line . There was a race car sitting in the parking lot at the Hampton Station. When I turned to cross the Hampton Avenue Bridge, I got caught in some downed power lines. I was in them before I saw them,. With the broken finger on my right hand , I am not getting good pressure on the rear brake. I got untangled and cut across town and got caught in a traffic jam at the Peace Center. Once out of there I rode down Falls Street into Cleveland Park. I took Washington to Laurens Road to get to Hillside Drive and climb the big hill. On Balsam Drive there is a large tree down in Chris G’s driveway. It blocks the road, driveway, and is on the power lines.
