Zin and Cin, what a great treat to know you both. Your hospitality during the Reunion 2005 pre-rides was fantastic and epitomizes the best of bikejournal. You housed us, fed us, entertained us and led us on some spectacular rides and provided invaluable support when two bj'ers went down. Despite some horrific weather and some physical challenges -- asthma, a tender knee, you have perserved and rode on. We should all be as tough and as determined a rider as you. May 2006 bring you great riding experiences, from the Death Valley Ride to the Triple Bypass and more.

Zin epitomizes what the "BikeJournal family" is all about. You won't find another person with a heart as big or as giving. Zin and his wife Cin opened their home to us for a couple of days of riding, and when I say us, I mean about 15 of us. They fed us, lead us, and we then fed us some more. My home will forever have room for Team CinZino

I've only spent a few minutes riding with Zin in person but I've spent countless hours getting to know him and Cin in the chat room and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that these two people typify everything that is good and right about BikeJournal. They are truly good people and it has been my privilege and honor to call them my friends.

I mean its Zin. Need I say more. The guy is simply a great person always helping others. Heck he even offered to send me tires when I my bike was out of commission. One day I will ride with him...hopefully he will come to his senses and move back to Texas!!

Hi! I'm Kit, Zin's younger sister. I rode with Zin when we were kids but never as an adult. But I did just get to see Zin for the first time in 10 years and he looks fantastic. You have to understand, I never remember Zin as being a healthy weight even as a child. And seeing him now and all the rides he has finished and friends he has made through biking is amazing. I can see his excitment about biking when he speaks about it. I so glad he has come this far. I am truly proud of my brother.

Good luck raising all the funds you need for the ride. Great cause - sorry I couldn't donate more! Hope you have a beautiful day for the ride.

OUCH! Just noticed the avatar. Hope you heal up in ggod as new shape & that rod comes out soon. I'll bet not soon enough for you. Worse thing I ever had was a couple pins and a screw in the left wrist when I was 10 or 11. The screw is still there.

1989 Santana Arriva Tandem
Road bike |
Description: NAME: "Dawn Phenom'enon" - The dawn phenomenon is an unexpected early morning increase in blood glucose levels. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) describes the dawn phenomenon as a surge of growth and stress hormones — such as cortisol, glucagon, or epinephrine — that the body naturally produces around 4 a.m. to 5 a.m.
I just purchased this bike 31-March-2021 from the original owner for $400.00 in Indiana.
The bike has undergone many component upgrades. Came with both front and rear racks. Additionally equipped with a rear drum brake for greater stopping power.
Planned upgrades are: 1. Refresh on the cables 2. Replace the fork (per Santana) 3. Replace "Captian's" saddle to something less squishy and without springs. 4. New bar tape. 5. May replace "Stoker" handle bars. Will see how we can adjust them for Abby.
Lifetime Odometer:
52.9 miles
