On the old Rochester, Lockport & Buffalo rail pathway

Fat Tire Exploration Ride
Cycling along, first down to Salmon Creek CC to inspect their newly resurfaced driveway. While there, I thought to go around the back of the clubhouse where the snack bar was located (remembering the years when SalmonCreek was a customer that I serviced for Bachman back in the day, 1985-2002"). I went down a golf cart path a bit, then doubled back and headed for the Canal towpath.

Cycling the towpath west to Gallup Road, I went over the bridge and turned into Aroowhead GC and Marina. After touring their parking lot, I went back to Gallup. Entering the old Rochester, Lockport & Buffalo rail line pathway from Gallup, the path westward was rough with railbed dolomite stone. About a mile down the stony path, I could see Sweden Walter Road ahead and thought good, I had enough. But at Sweden Walker Road, the path continued west and looked wide and smooth. For another 1/2 mile, the path WAS wide and smooth, then more rough stone like the first section off Gallup road. The old trolley path was mostly stony but clear of debris. Along each side of this old trolley bed were wooded areas and swampy spots. I saw a Deer and a Snapping Turtle, but no human activity on the 2-1/2 mile segment. I exited the path at Owens Road by the Brockport Fire Station. A path leading to the Soldier's Memorial Tower was overgrown, so I decided not to visit there. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/gps-cs-s/

I crossed north over the Canal at State Street in Brockport and took the towpath back east to Gordon Road. At Gallup Road, I turned onto Ogden Parma TL Rd. and explored some of the paths at the abandoned Golf Course, then I biked home
