 Slow Swamp ROMP
Today I rode to the Cafe to meet up with the Swamp ROMP. I got there and there were 11 of us that left the Cafe - Joe, James, Art, Elliot, Adrienne, Jeff, Kathy, Lynn, Linda, Ron, and me. We picked up Rita at Furman. We started off up the trail and Adrienne's front brakes locked up on her. The cable was stuck in its housing. Art and I stayed back and got her on the road again. We took off but Art fell off the back. We rode on up to Furman and waited for over 10 minutes for Art to catch up. We rode on up the trail and Elliot was struggling to stya up so I rode with him. Then Art fell off the back. I stayed with him into TR and Joe called to see where we were. We went to Williams Hardware to eat. I had a ham, asparagus, pea strata with copper pennies and iced tea. We had an interesting time of eating and conversation. Rita said that she would ride with Art going back, but I ended up riding with them and talking to Rita. We stopped at the north end of Furman and Rita realized that she had something to do up in TR. Art took off and told us to cach up. Then I sat at the back with Kathy and Adrienne. We stopped at the Sulphur Springs station and stopped to talk for a while. Then Art caught us. I asked how he got behind us since we never passed him. He had stopped on campus at Furman to use the restroom. After that we rode back to the Cafe and went our separte ways. Shortly after leaving the cafe I ran into Joe Y that rode with us last time. I chased him back to teh cafe and had a talk with him. I rode back to town and was about to turn onto River Street to avoid Falls Park and I heard Michael call out so I stopped and talk with him for a while. Then I rode the rest of the way home. Cleveland Park was parked full and then some when I passed through it.
