Tonight I drove to Cleveland Park to meet Ken to ride to the concert at Furman called the ‘Greatest Generation." We met and another man named Mike showed up to ride. But Mike took a long time to get ready and it put us in a bind. We took off and hustled up the trail. The concert was inside McAlister Auditorium and we were a couple of minutes late. The flyer said Poinsett Wind Symphony, but that was a full concert band and they were very good. The songs came from the Greatest Generation with several variations in style, but they were well done and very enjoyable. After the concert we rode north into Travelers Rest, but then rode on to the north end of the trail. We turned around there and rode back down the trail. We stopped for a second at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe as they had a dance outside under the cover. But the ride from Travelers Rest to the end was after dark. Mike’s tail light died about 8 or 9 miles from the end and Ken’s headlight died about 2 miles from the end. We rolled back into Cleveland Park to end the ride.
