Late this morning I left the house on the Surly to go up and down the trail. It had rain last night, so much was wet and the creeks and the river were murky. After I passed through the Cancer Survivors Park, Furman College Way was covered up with people setting up for a Black Pride Rally. The next few miles of the trail were very crowded. I threaded my way through traffic up to the north end of the trail. There is a lighthouse there that I had never noticed before - or if I did I just forgot it. The wind going up the trail was pretty tough. It seemed odd to have that much humidity along with the wind. Once I turned back the wind blew me down the trail the first few miles, then it turned on me again. I stopped for a drink at the Furman train car and Wilson was there. He wanted to know why I haven’t been riding with the Swamp ROMP. I rode on down the trail, then cut through downtown to avoid the Black Pride rally. I got back to the trail at the F-86 and took my usual route home.
