Tonight I drove to Cleveland Park and met Ken, Mark, and Don Y to ride to Furman for the Patriotic Concert. As we were leaving Bo showed up and we headed up the trail. We headed up the trail but the concert was packed. I saw Mauro and Bianca when I was climbing the walkway to the outdoor theater. Once there I went to reset Strava and discovered that I had not started it. So I only have the ride after the concert on Strava.
Bo left about midway through the concert. I saw Ken, Mark, and leave during the 1812 Overture. I rolled out during the final number Stars and Stripes Forever. The have the concert playing onto the lake so I heard the entire Stars and Stripes! I rode around the lake and Ken, Mark, Don, and Mike were waiting for me at the entrance to the trail. We rode up to Travelers Rest and turned around across from the Creperie to head back down the trail. We rode along until we reached the freshly paved offshoot that goes to Lake view Elementary. We rode up it and then back to the trail. Shortly after that we started seeing lightning. About two miles later we heard thunder and the wind kicked up. It started raining lightly around the falls. I fell off the back of the pack going through Falls Park, but they were stopped at the Cancer Survivors Center. Ken was checking the radar and wanted to wait. I checked the radar and went on. I rode through a mile of light rain then I was back at the truck.
