I picked up Bill to ride this afternoon. We rode but Bill was not up to snuff and was feeling very lethargic. We rode a little then called it a ride.
Later I drove to the Hudson Street parking lot to get in a quick ride. I rode up the trail, circled the lake at Furman the rode up and turned around across from the Tandem Creperie. I headed back down the trail, circled the lake at Furman twice, then called Cis to meet me at the Cafe. They were having a grilled hotdog night. We grilled a couple of dogs, had coleslaw, mac ‘n cheese, and fresh fruit. It was a good combination. They had a bluegrass band. We also saw Mauro and Bianca while there, I asked Cis to bring my headlight, so I wouldn’t have to finish my ride in the dark. But she forgot, so I headed out early to beat the darkness. Right after I left the Cafe I was passed by a couple of riders that were admiring my Surly. He was riding a Surly Long Haul Trucker and wanted to know about my Surly Straggler. The LHT is supposed to be the best of the Surly touring bikes. The Straggler is a little lighter version of touring bike, but it has several things the LHT does not. They were parked in the same lot that I was, so I rode back with them.
