Today I left for Ken’s Sunday Ride on the Trek. There wee 6 of us at Cleveland Park - Ken, Steve S, Steve Y, Mark, Bo, and me. We headed up the trail but got split apart at the Falls. I figured they would wait at Linky Stone, but they didn’t. I caught Ken, Steve S, and Bo at Blue Ridge, but Mark and Steve Y were pretty far behind. We finally waited and regrouped at the Pocket Park. We passed through Watkins Bridge Road where the cyclist was killed yesterday. There was a lot of discussion about that and what happened. As we pulled by Furman the sky was looking pretty ominous, so we pulled onto the campus and to the dining buildings. We parked the bikes and went inside. A few minutes later it started raining and eventually it really cut loose. We sat inside talking until it let up.
We headed up and out the north gate, but Bo and I went up the trail while Mark, Steve, Steve, and Ken went down the trail. Bo and I rode to the north end of the trail, then turned back south. We chatted our way down the trail. Once we were back in the parking lot Ken, Mark, and Steve Y were putting there bikes away. They had ridden out the Hincapie path and were just putting things up. I rode on home and climbed the big hill home.
