I took off to ride with Bill this morning. Things started poorly as I forgot my helmet and my gloves. We made it to Bill’s and inflated his tires for him. We headed out worked our way around MacAlister Square then rode threw Sliding Rock Creek Park to Cleveland Park and took the Lauren Road Bypass back toward Bill’s house. I had an explosive blowout and locked the bike to a mini-library and walked back to Bill’s while he rode. Bill was feeling run out when we got back. It took us a while to get him into the truck and back to his room.
I took the Surly to Piney Mountain and replaced the tires and rear tube. The tube had a 2 1/2 inch tear and the rubber was off the bead. They put on a pair of 700C x 42 Teravail Washburns.
I rode the Surly up and down the trail. A group was practicing at the Farmer’s Market and sounded pretty good. They were doing Celebrate when I got there and The Power of Love when I left. They sounded good, but not like Huey Lewis. When I came down the trail the girl that was at the pocket park the other night was there again. Her name is Ivana and she is Slovakian. It was a fun ride.
