Today I rode the Surly from the house to go to Petco to take care of the Feline Lifeline cats. I rode the Surly because I was planning to buy some canned cat food to bring home. The route there is hilly and the Surly is heavy, so I knew that it would be a tough ride in the heat. I used the new cheap water bottles that Ken gave me. You can take a cheap water bottle, fill it with water, then cover it with a wet cloth. When the water in the cloth evaporates, it cools the water in the bottle. I drank two bottles going there, then filled them and soaked the cloths and drank both bottles coming home.
I rode by my friend Bill’s house on the route home. I also took a detour onto the the Greenville Tech campus and to the Rudolph Anderson Memorial to get my quarter and to get into the shade.
