  | This morning I drove out to Old McElhaney to ride with Adam and Becky. It was a tough ride with a lot of climbing. I noticed that I have lost confidence in the front end of the bike after having three blowouts. This ride was all up and down and a front blowout would be very hazardous. Becky didn't stay with us. She is having knee problems so she rode a shortened version of what we rode. I did get caught on a steep climb. We entered the climb off a very steep descent and I didn't know what kind of ascent it was. I shifted out of the big ring but was stuck in a high gear. I kicked out and stopped. I downshifted a couple of gears and picked the bike up and pulled it into gear by hand. Then I got back on and rode it up the hill. It was a very stout climb. We made it back fine but I was really pooped out. I drove back to Greenville and over to TTR. They had replaced the tire on my front wheel, so they mounted that wheel back on the bike and I took it out to see if it would stay up. I rode by the place where it blew out twice and made a short loop through downtown then onto the Trail and back over to TTR. Hopefully that will be the end of front end blowouts, but I'm afraid that it will be a while before I regain confidence in that wheel!
