I took the Trek out today and rode it in the neighborhood to see how it was shifting and check the fit. I raised the seat close to half an inch. I loaded it into the truck and drove to Bunched Arrowhead. I rode around the lot a couple of times until Adam and Becky arrived. Then it was off on the ride. I had ridden about 5 miles when I realized that I had not brought my drinks. Becky gave me one of her drinks as the ride would have been too much with no drinks. About 8 miles out Becky turned back. She has been having knee issues and wasn't up to doing the whole ride. We were half way through the ride when I realized that I have no blinkies on this bike. I took the blinkies off the Gary Fisher and put them on the Straggler. I haven't been riding the Trek and hadn't thought about blinkies. We were back before dark, but when we got on Tigerville Road late on the ride, Adam insisted on having me ride ahead of him so that his blinkie would serve as a warning. I need to buy blinkies and the rest of the accessories and make sure that both bikes are fully outfitted. This ride really wore me out. The ride was about 24 miles with 1500 feet of climbing. 24 miles is no problem, but the 1500 feet of climbing wore me out. I guess that I need to be worn out to move forward!
