This morning I left the house and rode to the Cafe to meet the Swamp ROMP. Five of us met to ride - Joe, Jeff, Brad, Kitty, and me. We headed north at a leisurely pace, regrouping whenever necessary. We rode into TR when Brad and Kitty said that they were going to the TR Farmers' Market. I knew that Left Lane would be playing there so told Kitty to check them out. Kitty likes Bluegrass, so she wanted to se them. Joe, Jeff, and I headed on north to get to the north end of the trail. Once we were north of TR I took off and left them so that I could get to the end and meet them before they made it to Quarry Road. I raced on down there and turned back. I met them just before they made Quarry Road so that worked out well. We headed back down the trail. Just outside of TR Jeff started hearing a problem with his right front disc brake (h rides a 3-wheeler.) He stopped and wanted me to look at it. I knew that his pad was ticking on the openings but told him to get it to the LBS to have them fix it. He doesn't ride fast and can stop with his left front and rear. When he stopped there was also a skate-boarder down. I went by and he had crashed and hurt his ankle and wrist, but he had people coming to get him. We went back down the trail and stopped at the Cafe and decided to ride with Jeff to TTR then over to Barley's. At TTR Jonathan went out and checked the brakes and found that two of the disc mounting screws were loose. They tightened them and several other screws and put Jeff back on his way. We rode back down to the trail then into town and over to Barley's. We lost Jeff between the trail and Barley's. We were putting the bikes up when a guy yelled out "Spinners!" He came over and asked if tomorrow's ride was still on. I asked him if he was Kevin. I had ridden with him on Sunday, but never did get over to talk to him. I told him that I was sure the ride was on. While we were talking Joe get a text from Jeff that he had stopped by his apartment about 2 blocks from Barley's and he was walking over. We went in and ordered. I had another Arnold Palmer (made with pink lemonade), a pitcher of water, and a fancy BLT with chips. We talked for quite a while then we headed out. I had a little under 4 miles to get home, but after cooling off and drinking a lot of liquid my legs had tightened up and I was not working up a weat coming home. It was in the 90s by then and I no longer felt like riding. I made it home with no problem, but my ride was done!
