I left the house around 4 o'clock on the Trek to run up and down the trail. As I headed up the trail I noticed that it was getting dark to the north. When I reached the north end of Furman it looked very dark up by Travelers Rest. I rode to Roe Ford Road then turned back and rode a loop around the lake at Furman. I got back on the trail and headed south. I was getting along at a good clip when I passed a couple of riders stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Station. They were fiddling with the pump at the Spinners work station, but that pump is broken. I asked what they were doing and one of them had borrowed a bike, but didn't check the tires and the front was all but flat. I told him that I had some CO2 and he asked what would that do. I told him that it would blow up the tire. I got out the CO2 dispenser and cartridge and blew it right up. They asked what to do about it and told them to pay it forward. I met them later and they were having a fun ride. I rode on down the trail and turned off onto Hudson and rode over to TTR for a quick drink of cold water. From there I rode up the trail to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe. I went in the grocery side and saw Mary and Ord. Then I went to the cafe side and had a bottle of sparkling peach juice and a pecan peach scone. I lost my mirror while I was there and spent about 5 minutes looking for it. It had fallen out of my pocket when I sat down to eat. Then I rode back to Hudson and cut across town to get home.
