23.64 miles; An afternoon work Commute with a stop at the Robb Farm CSA;
This year we chose to go with the CSA's "half Share" -that's plenty! From Robb Farm today I hauled the produce home in the bike trunk bag. The expandable trunk bag is a handy accessory to have on a rear rack! The Items were able to fit in the trunk bag easily and included a large head of Broccoli, 6 ears of Corn a large Eggplant, 4 Peaches, 1 pound of Yellow Snap Beans, and 7 Tomatoes. Additionally, the CSA availability this week included Zucchini and Cucumbers, but I have those growing well at home, and well... you know how those items grow...So I left those items for someone who may have a need for extra.
A 1/2 Share at the CSA makes sense for just the two of us at home, especially when our own homegrown produce is growing great as it is this year. The Deer control system I set-up for my veggie plots this year is doing the job well.
