Today I rode the Trek from the house to Cleveland Park to meet for Ken’s Sunday Ride. Eight of us left the park - Ken, Steve S, Bo, David, John, newcomers Sergio and Noemi, and me - we picked up Lynda at Linky Stone Park to make 9. We rode along first stopping at Fat Ma’s so Ken to explain about Fat Ma. We detoured up and back on the new Lakeview link just to see the see piece of trail. We also circled the lake at Furman before going on to Travelers Rest. When we came off campus at Furman I noticed that had fallen off the back and was lagging far behind. I waited on him, but he turned back shortly after he caught me. He had a meeting in Landrum and needed to get home in time to clean up before leaving. After waiting for him I was about 3/8 a mile off the group, so I had to hustle to catch John and Noemi at the back of the pack. We rode into TR and turned around across from the Creperie then rode to the Tree House. I had a beehive drink that turned out to be some kind of frappuccino. The discussion at the table was pretty lively with Sergio and Noemi adding a lot to the conversation. When we finished Sergio and Noemi left as they live in Travelers Rest and had ridden down to meet us. We rode down the trail and Lynda peeled off at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe where she was parked. That left Bo and me pretty far behind the rest of them and we hustled to pull back to the group. We rode into the parks and circled the old dog park before pulling in at the tennis courts. From there I climbed the big hill to get home.
