 Bill & the SRT
Bill and I rode from his house, but before we rode someone from Brookdale took a picture of Bill, Dale, and me to post on their Facebook site. He also requested that we get pix of Bill riding to post. Bill seemed to have more energy today. That may have been from the change in weather - the temps and humidity were both down and it was very comfortable outside. We rode the neighborhood and had a good time talking while we rode.

After I took Bill back, I drove to the tennis courts at Cleveland Park and headed up the trail. I took the streets to the Cancer Survivors Center, then followed the trail to River Street where I took backstreets to Buncombe Road. I cut through the old Poe Mill area and stopped to take pix of the area that they fixed up to be a skateboard park in the Poe Mill ruins. I worked my way back to Buncombe Road and followed it to the old Union Bleachery area. (Poe Mill and Union Bleachery are both old mills that burned down in the past few years). I followed the new trail section from Lakeview School back to the trail. Once on the trail I headed north. I met Ken riding south while riding through Furman and about 1/4 mile later I met his wife Harriette. I rode on to the north end of the trail where I ate about 6 thin slices of apple that were in my water bottle and downed another bottle of water.

I headed back down the trail from the north end. The ride south was a little odd as there were an large number of kids on the trail. It seemed like it was "neighborhood kid day." I saw several young mothers herding groups of 6 to 8 kids on bikes and on foot. I stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and talked to Jackie, one of the owners. Then I bought a container of goat milk yogurt and a Breakfast Berry Smoothie. I finished off another water bottle and ate the thin apple slices that were in it while I enjoyed the smoothie. While leaving I heard my name and it was Ord that used to work at the cafe. From there I rode back through the parks and to the truck in Cleveland Park to finish a good day of riding.
