I rode to Cleveland Park for the abnormal Sunday ride. Today they rode to TR then turned straight around to ride downtown to go to Clemson 1 to watch the Pro division of the Criterium Races. Eight of us left the zoo - Ken, Mark, Don Y and Lynda, Scott, John and Marianne, and me. We were soon joined by Michael, then another pair hopped in for a while. Scott pulled away from us. The weather was nice and the trail was packed. At the Willard Street Bridge a kid came across the bridge onto my side of the bridge and wrecked right in front of me. That bridge and interchange were poorly designed and are often a problem for cyclists, especially inexperienced riders. We made it to the turnaround point across from Sunrift and the rest headed back down the trail while I stopped at the Forest. I had a cup of coffee and a slice of blueberry lemon cake. I also bought a slice of carrot bread for Cis. I rode back to Furman and went to Latham Stadium to catch the end of the UNCG v Furman baseball game, but it was over. The Furman crowd was standing around looking stuned as they lost 14-0. Cis had already gone, but I spoke with Henry F and John R and the coach's wife Beth. On the ride home I cut across town rather than return through the parks that were packed.
