 A Solo 37.8 Mile Tour
-with 3 Stops Along The Way

I have not been doing much recreational biking this year. And most of my rides have been commutes on the Zurich electric bike. Actually the e-bike is a substantial work out. Lugging a 57 pound electric behemoth under my 233 pound mass, averaging 19-20 mph takes effort! But the Bianchi has been standing in the corner of my garage looking forlorn. So today was "tour day" with my Bianchi road bike. It was a good work-out for both of us....

First stop was at my Uncle Mike and Aunt Pat’s house in Holley. We chatted about family and the weather. Aunt Pat is doing her best keeping things running smoothly.

Continuing on South Holley Road, I headed to North Bergen, -on a mission to cross paths with an old friend and past co-worker. After nearly 30 years, I hoped to drop in at an old friends place and reacquaint. I stopped at a house where long ago this friend and work associate lived, in North Bergen. At the house, seeing an old "Bachmobile", long since converted into a storage shed, I noticed a woman tending some flowers and feeding a couple of chickens. Dismounting my bike and pushing it down a path toward where this unfamiliar women was sitting. I waved, told her my name and said an old friend Don used to live here. Then I asked her if she had any chips or pretzels for sale, -pointing to the old truck. She told me her name was "Sam". She tells me Don still lives there and was in the house. She went back to the house to get Don. Don came out, and we briefly caught up with what all… I promised to stop again with some homebrew next time.

Next, I was off to Churchill, to stop by Al’s new place. Al wasn’t home. I waited a bit, then biked the last 8 miles to home. A good bike tour!
