Today I rode the Trek from home to meet the group at the zoo parking lot for Ken’s Sunday ride. Six of us met at the zoo parking lot - Ken, Mark, Steve S, John, Keith, and me. We took Ken’s route across the Liberty Bridge and onto the trail. The trail is still closed at Hudson Street, so we looped around and took the Hampton Avenue Bridge to Hampton Station. Then we rode up the trail. John broke off at the coffee shop while we went to the north end of the trail. We rode back to TR and the TRee House. I had my decaf au lait and a fruit cup. We were sitting outside when Don Y and Lunda rolled up. Do had some books and magazines and gave me a magazine that had my picture in it. Don and Lynda headed on to the north end while we headed back down the trail. We followed the prescribed detour around the blockage to get south. Ken took the group to loop around the dog park, then Keith and I went out the Hincapie Path. Keith lives out that way and I cut through 1st Baptist’s parking lot to get to Cleveland Street and follow it to Gardenview back to Cleveland Park. I took the Fernwood climb and cut 11 seconds off my best time. I dropped back down to Cleveland Park and the zoo parking lot to get to Washington Street. I climbed the big hill on Hillside, but when I was on East North street I saw a pile of little kids on bikes, trikes, and wheelies in the Overbrook parking lot. I stopped in and it was several families letting their kids ride in the lot. I talked to them a few minutes and rode the final mile hime.
