Today I drove to Cleveland Park and got caught in a bad traffic jam getting down there. Cleveland Park was parked full, so I had to park over by where the dog park used to be and ride back. There were seven of us at the zoo parking - Ken, Steve S, Steve Y, Mark, Dan, Nina, and me. We rode through town since the trail was packed in the parks. We got back on the trail at Linky Stone Park. When we passed by the Swamp Rabbit Cafe Nina’s son and daughter-in-law (Tim and Marilin) were there and waving at us. Don Y was waiting for us at the Pocket Park and joined us there. Tim and Marilin were at the railroad car at Furman waving at us. We rode around the lake at Furman and Nina didn’t get downshifted far enough to climb the steep hill behind the lake. I told her not to go too fast down the hill because there is a small hump bridge at the bottom of the hill and that hump will toss you if you’re going too fast. Then Tim and Marilin were waving at us behind the Whistle Stop Cafe in Travelers Rest and I told them that we would stop for snacks at the TreeHouse. When we got to the TreeHouse they came in and snacked with us. I had never met Tim, so it was good to meet him. We rode from there back down the trail and dropped Don at the Pocket Park. Ken took a detour on Washington Street and I think that we lost Dan. Once we were in the town area and the trail was crowded, Nina was really struglging to thread through traffic, so I took the lead and let her follow me through traffic. We worked our way back to Cleveland Park and I talked with Tim and Marilin there.
