Today I drove to Cleveland Park and met Don Y, Steve S, Mark, and Ken to ride the trail. They were also going to ride Tubbs Mountain, but I didn’t have time to ride that far. We rode up the trail and looped around the lake at Furman. Once we were back on the trail, but still on the Furman campus we met at old lady that was walking down the middle of the trail with her arms out and screaming at us. I have dealt with her before and she is a New York whack job. She screamed at us and called us a bunch of a$$holes for hogging the trail. Of course the trail was nearly empty and she was trying to take her half out of the middle while screaming at us. It’s people like her that make southerners hate yankees. They come down here and act like jerks. I’d like to tell her that I-85 runs north and she should use those northbound lanes. We rode on to Travelers Rest and ran into a rider named Howie that the others knew, but I didn’t. He joined us to do the rest of the ride. We rode on to the north end of the trail and I broke off to ride home while the others headed to Tubbs Mountain. I told Ken that I couldn’t ride with a group of a$$holes any more! I headed south and stopped at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe and bought a grilled cheese sandwich with roasted cabbage for lunch. I washed it down with a black cherry soda. While there I also bought some russet potatoes, yukon gold potatoes, fingerling sweet potates, a pound of chund chuck, a bag of apples and a couple of chocolate chunk cookies. From there I rode back to the truck to end the ride.
