Today I took off on the Straggler. I rode through the park and over to TTR. I am getting a rack and pannier for the Straggler. JJ tried to mount 3 different racks, but two of them wouldn't mount over the disc brake and the other did fit the bike. He's going to order the right rack for it and since he is ordering that he wil get a black pannier to go with it. The one in stock was red. Then I should be set to carry more stuff to and from work. I figure when the weather starts to dip that I will be able to use the additional space. I had him remove the white headset spacers and put all matching black spacers and dropped the bars once space while doing it.
When I left TTR, I called Cis and told her to meet me at Duke's Doggs for lunch. I rode up there and met Cis. Kristy sold Duke's and today is her last day as owner. She will work one more week to help the new owner. I will really miss Kristy. She gave me her email address so that we can stay in touch. Kristy has been the greatest. I had two corn dogs with her great fries and several glasses of Arnold Palmers. I gave Kristy and her momma a big hug and left.
Riding back down the trail I tried to work on spinning instead of mashing. I have been reading about riding cadence and discovered that I am a masher. I need to work on my cadence and see if it helps my riding. I did move me average speed from 12.7 mph riding up the trail to 13.2 for the whole ride while riding down. Maybe spinning will help me to ride better.
