Today I took off to try to get some miles and see whee I am for the big ride tomorrow. I haven't been riding much since early July when I took sick. I headed up the trail and thought there's no way I can do tomorrow's ride. When I cam to the tracks at Bramlett the train had it blocked, so I took the route over the hump bridge tobeat the train. When I cleared the bridge I could see the train still blocking Bramlett. Then once I cleared Travelers Rest I headed on out on my new route to Tubbs Mountain. I stopped near the top for a drink and it started to rain as I cleared the mountain. I headed down the mountain knowing that I could coast 25 to 35 mph for a couple of miles and pull away the rain. I rode back into TR and made my way to Duke's Doggs. I had a chilicheese burger with mustard, ketchup, onion, and pickles and chilicheese freis with a lemonade then a Coke. Kristy's dad, uncle, and aunt were there haivng an informal business meeting with a man planning a water line to his restaurant. They are a funny family. Then I headed for home and the big climb to get there. I rode over 36 miles today - I hope these 36 miles will prepare me for the 50 plus tomorrow!!!
