Today I headed up the Trail for a quick ride. As I crossed the road to the south side of Furman I stopped to talk to Officer Mike. I saw him in the morning in the parking lot of the Cafe with other officers and officials. They are planning a barbecue at some point and Mike said he would get me a flyer once it's planned. I also stopped there for a drink from the fountain. I was about out of Furman when Don H came by. He was riding up to Ceasar's Head and then to Brevard. I don't have those kinds of climbs in my legs. I rode on through Travelers Rest and north to the cemetery where I turned off and took my route to Tubbs Mountain. I felt like I was fighting the wind all day, but I think it may have been that my legs were tired. I made it to Tubbs Mountain but I must have been distracted riding over it because the next thing I knew I was flying down the mountain. I rode back into Travelers Rest and over to Duke's Doggs. I told Cis that I should be there somewhere around 3 o'clock and Kristy's clock read 3 when I walked in. Cis came 6 minutes later but Kristy's clock is 5 minutes fast. I had a turkey dog with dijon mustard, onions, sauerkraut, and peppers and an order of fries and lemonade. We talked for a good while then I headed back down the trail. Kimberly was headed north as I went south just north of Furman. I turned off the Trail at Hudson and went up to TTR to buy some chain lube, then I went back down to the Trail and followed my normal route home.
