Today I headed up the trail to get in some miles. At the little pocket park at Sulphur Springs they installed a "historic" engine with the railroad car that has been there. That engine is the smallest engine that I have ever seen. Three miles south is a CSX yard with a yard engine depot and the little yard engines are several times the size of that one. The engine has a nameplate with a build date of 1942. I rode on up the trail and then north of TR. I got off the trail at the cemetary and took Lindsey Lake to Jamison to get to Tubbs Mountain. At the top of Tubbs Mountain Road is another road that goes on up the mountain. I have never figured out where it went, so today I turned and followed it around. It had some good little climbs and some very nice homes that are well hidden. I will try to get some of my riding buddies to go back there with me. It comes out on down the mountain, so you don't get the huge launch down Tubbs Mountain Road, but you still get a good downhill run. I rode back into TR and over to Duke's Doggs. I had a turkey dog with onions and mustard, sauerkraut, and more mustard with an order of fries and a Coke. Kristy's Dad was there and he and I talked for a while, then he left and Kristy and I talked for a good while. I left there and rode back down the trail and on home. I passed Mary and her little boy just south of the Cafe. The rest of the ride was just a nice little ride.
