I left late this afternoon to get up and down the trail before dark. After getting going I noticed that the chain was really rattling around. It kept getting louder, so I stopped short of the Cafe and called Cis to bring some oil out to me. I had her meet me at the pocket park on Sulphur Springs. I oiled it and test rode it and had a woman run me into a short brick wall. But a little oil really quieted the chain. Now I knew that I would have to hustle up the trail to get back before dark. I pushed it on up the trail and pulled off the Trail at Duke's Doggs. I stopped to take a quick drink from my bottle and was pulling onto the Trail when I heard my name called. Kristy was at Duke's even though she was long closed. She ran out with a glass of lemonade. She was waiting for a man that had left his briefcase at the store. She wanted my opinion of a situation that happened to her at the store. We talked for a good while, then I told her that I had to get going to beat the dark home. On the ride south I discovered the kitten that had been out the previous evening. Mama cat must have a nest right there and the white kitty comes out at dusk and later. The sun was setting as I pulled onto East North Street to get on home.
