This morning I rode to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe to meet the Swamp ROMP and ride with them. When I arrived at the Cafe I knew that I needed a little more to eat before riding. i had eaten breakfast, but that was at 6:30 and it was a couple of hours later. So I had a peach doughnut to satisfy my hunger. Nine of us met to ride up the trail. Joe, Lynn, Karen, Cat, Art, Jeff, Andre, Daryl, and me. The group splintered and fractured but regrouped several times.Several of these riders were new to me. Karen and I renewed our old stories and updated them as they came up. In TR Karen split off to go to the bank and Art stopped at Sunrift to rest as we rode to the far end of the Trail. There was a group of deaf riders that I spoke to at the cafe then took pix for them at the north end of the trail. I tried communicating with them to get some information for Alice. We regathered and headed back down the trail. Andre flatted around the Sulphur Springs crossing, so we had a lesson in tire repair. But it wasn't the tube that flatted on Andre, but he had a blow out on his front tire. He reinforced it with a receipt and put it back together. We rode back to the Cafe, but the group decided to eat at Barley's downtwon. We went to Barley's and I had a special BLT with sweet tea. We talked and talked and had a good time. Jeff and Cat were both new to me and Daryl was pretty much unknown although we had ridden together once. So we had a good time talking. When Andre was working on his flat Ramona stopped and we talked about Steve. So we both posted on his site that we had been talking about him!! It was a fun ride.
