This morning I rode the Straggler from home to go to the Agape Center to meet with my conversation partners. I stopped at the tennis courts as Ken said he would be there at 9. I stopped and there was a text saying he would be there at 9:10. Then Steve Y pulled in. We waited for Ken and took off to go north. We putted along chatting along the way. Ken and Steve are best friends, but they bicker like a pair of old biddies! We turned in at Furman and I circled the lake with them, then they continued north while I went to the Agape Center. I waited for about 30 minutes and discovered that Daniel wasn’t there. So I got back on the bike and headed up the trail. I met Joe F from the Swamp ROMP while going north, then I heard Ken and Steve bickering about 1/4 mile before I met them. Once in TR there was a display of scarecrows close to the Gazebo. I took some pix and one of my finger then hit my turnaround point across from the creperie. I rode back down the trail to Furman and circled the lake once again. I met with Oscar and had a good conversation with him while we ate lunch. I had a sweet summer salad - greens, shredded carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomato halves, and sliced strawberries with feta cheese and a creamy vinaigrette. After that I rode to the cafe and stopped at the entrance and talked with a couple that were exploring the trail. I told them what was where and they invited me to ride their trails in Pennsylvania. I went in the cafe and had an Apple caramel smoothie that was really good and bought a pumpkin snickerdoodle cookie for Cissi. After sitting inside consuming the smoothie, it left me with a very fall-like feeling. That was sure popped when I went outside to the 93 degree weather! I rode back into town, through the parks, and climbed the big hill home. When I got to East North Street Elementary, the car line was backed well onto East North a traffic had to use the suicide lane to get by. That is a little eerie on a bike.
