Today I rode from the house and told Cis to meet me at Sidewall Pizza in Travelers Rest to get her birthday pizza. I rode through Cleveland Park and Falls Park with limited trail traffic. It was chilly and the wind had some bite, so that cut down on trail traffic. I stopped at Lindy Stove Park and the Cafe going north to check to see who was texting me. I also stopped at Furman to take off my jacket. I was sweating and I knew that I would suffer for it later. Once I left Furman my arms were very cold from th ebreeze hitting my sweaty arms. I turned around across from Sunrift Outfitters and rolled down to Sidewall Pizza. Cis wasn’t there yet, so I walked to the Tree House Coffee Shop and picked up a menu for future use. Cis was at the pizza shiop after that. Cis ordered a Bacon Bliss Pizza - 16 slices of all-natural, nitrate-free bacon, mozzarella, pecorino and their house-made black-cherry soda. I ordered a Sliced Pear Salad - pear slices, dried cranberries, chopped red onion, maple cinnamon candied walnuts on baby spinach with house-made fig balsamic vinaigrette. I had the small salad (which is pretty large) and two slices of the pizza and their house-made vanilla-creme soda. They were very good pizza, salad, and sodas! I put my jacket back on for the ride down the trail. The ride down the trail was uneventful except for an emergency pit stop at the zoo restroom. After that I climbed the big hill to get home.
